Ankle pain FAQ

Should i walk on a sprained ankle?
This depends on the severity of the injury. Majority of the time, for a minor ankle sprain it is beneficial to continue to mobilise, however a more severe ankle injury may require immobilisation or support for weightbearing initially. A physiotherapy assessment can help determine what level of activity is appropriate.
do ankle sprains heal by themselves?
Many improve with time, but rehabilitation is important to restore strength and reduce the risk of repeated sprains.
Can physiotherapy help chronic ankle instability?
Yes. Specific strengthening and balance exercises are highly effective for improving ankle stability.
